Linda S. Gudas, Ph.D.
Dr. Gudas is a licensed psychologist in Massachusetts. She treats children with emotional, behavioral and developmental concerns. Her areas of expertise and advanced training are with children, adolescents, adults and families facing grief and loss or coping with medical trauma. She sees children from toddlerhood though adolescence; provides parent guidance; and offers consultation and treatment to couples, families and adults. She also provides peer consultation as a service to mental health professionsals.
Before pursuing her doctorate, Dr. Gudas was a pediatric nurse practitioner at Boston Children's Hospital and an instructor in graduate nursing at Boston College. She worked as a staff psychologist in the department of psychiatry at Boston Children's Hospital for 15 years. In addition, she consulted to school systems and taught and supervised medical students, fellows, and psychology and social work trainees. She has presented lectures and seminars internationally and is published in professional journals and textbooks in her areas of special interest.
Dr. Gudas received her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Boston University and her Ph.D. from Tufts University. She completed an APA approved predoctoral internship in psychology at Boston Children's Hospital in 1986. Through 2018, she retained an appointment as a Senior Attending Psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry at Children's and was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry, Part-time, at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Gudas has worked in Needham in private practice since 1995.
